Nurse of the Year

For many years, GPH has supported the Cancer Council Nurse of the Year Campaign. The campaign ran from 1971-2009 giving nurses, personal carers and nursing assistants the opportunity to bring hope to all Queenslanders affected by cancer.

For almost 40 years our Nurse of the Year entrants have raised awareness and funds for cancer research, treatment and support services for cancer patients. As our most important ambassadors they have spread vital messages about cancer prevention and early detection, and made a real difference in their communities by becoming a link between those affected by cancer and those working to beat cancer.
