Record babies born ahead of State Of Origin decider

A record 35 babies have been born at Greenslopes Private Hospital in the week leading up to State of Origin Game 3, beating the hospital’s previous record of 33 which was set in the week before Game 1!

It’s hoped those extra little voices will help cheer the Maroons to victory tonight at Suncorp Stadium.

Some of Queensland’s youngest Maroons fans are already showing their true colours.

Newborns at Greenslopes Private Hospital are sporting tiny beanies and nappy covers ahead of the most popular event on the state’s sporting calendar. 

Greenslopes Maternity has also undergone a patriotic colour change, temporarily becoming MAROONslopes Maternity.

4,336 little Queenslanders have been born at Greenslopes Private Hospital since the maternity ward opened in 2013.

628 of those births have been in 2017.
