Greenslopes Private Hospital has enjoyed a special relationship with the Queensland veteran community since it opened as a military hospital in 1942. By the end of World War II it was the largest Army hospital in Queensland. After the war, in 1947, the Commonwealth Repatriation Commission took control of the Hospital to provide care for veterans and war widows. It remained a Repatriation Hospital until its sale in early 1995 to Ramsay Health Care.

Our Future

Ramsay Health Care recently completed a $37 million upgrade of Greenslopes Private Hospital, incorporated a new 90 private bed wing, four additional operating theatres and 32 onsite medical consulting suites. Officially opened by the Prime Minister of Australia in April 2003, this new development is one of the most significant in the Hospital's 60 year history.

Greenslopes Private Hospital will continue to develop its infrastructure and expand its services in order to meet the increasing demands of the community.
