Who is offering the course?
Greenslopes Private Hospital and Gold Coast Institute of TAFE have partnered in a joint venture to develop and deliver an integrated and innovative HLT51607 Diploma of Nursing (Enrolled/Division 2) course.
The 18 month Diploma of Nursing (Enrolled/Division 2) will be delivered both online and face to face, allowing consolidation of knowledge and skills All clinical placements have been arranged to occur at Greenslopes Private Hospital, a Ramsay Health care facility. Uniquely student focused, the flexible delivery mode and practical components are structured to prepare for your employment as an enrolled nurse

What are some of the subjects I will study?
- Vocational placement
- Administer and monitor medications within a work environment
- Apply principals of wound care management in the clinical environment
- Communicate with clients and colleagues
- Contribute to a preliminary heath care assessment
- Contribute to care of a client with an acute health problem
- Contribute to the care of a client with a chronic health problem
- Follow organizational health and safety policies
- Gather and use client based observations and information
- Perform complex nursing procedures safely and within organizational guidelines
- Practice within a contemporary nursing environment
What are my job prospects?
The Diploma of Nursing (Enrolled/Division 2) course offered by Gold Coast Institute of TAFE at Greenslopes Private Hospital will provide you with a nationally recognised qualification and a potential opportunity for preferred employment with Ramsay Health Care.
Additionally the course will also enable you to gain credit points towards a Bachelor of Nursing program. Once you complete the program with Gold Coast Institute of TAFE you can apply for a one year direct credit in the registered nursing programs offered by Griffith University.
What are the entry requirements?
All applicants must have:
- Evidence of completion of five (5) years (full time equivalent) of education taught and assessed in English in any of the following countries; Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, South Africa, United Kingdom, United States of America
- Attained a Sound Achievement in English (QLD senior school or equivalent) OR a minimum of 7.0 on each band in the International English Language testing System (IELTS) OR and overall pass, and with grades A or B in each of the four components of listening, reading, writing and speaking in the Occupational English Test (OET)
Online requirements:
- Minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels
- Computer running Windows XP/Vista or Apple Macintosh OSX 10.1
- Internet Explorer 6.0 (Version 7.0 recommended), Mozilla Firefox 2.0, Safari 3.0 or Opera 9.0
- Internet connection (Broadband recommended)
- All applicants must demonstrate moderate level computer skills by completing a short computer proficiency test. Participation in the computer proficiency test is mandatory.

All applications will be reviewed and the candidates who meet the entry requirements will be offered an interview. After the interview and selection process is complete the successful candidates will be offered a place within the program.
