Hospital patients and staff benefit from number one gym in Australasia

Hundreds of guests joined world championship gold medallist Hayley Lewis to unveil Australasia's premier gym - the 'Wellness System' - at Greenslopes Private Hospital today.

Lewis officially opened the hospital's state-of-the-art Wellness Centre, which includes the new Italian Technogym resistance and cardiovascular equipment and multi-functional areas for exercises, workshops and seminars alike.

Greenslopes Private Hospital’s General Manager Alan Kinkade said: “We are proud to be the first hospital in Australasia to offer such 'high-tech' equipment, enabling users to customise training programs and monitor personal results of each workout through the use of a simple computer key.

" The new equipment offers the latest in personalised training and is tailored to the needs of our staff and patients.

" The key system assists with exercise training and rehabilitation and spares users from having to enter training data manually."

Greenslopes Private Hospital recently underwent a multimillion dollar expansion, making it the largest private hospital in the nation with 530 beds.

The $37 million dollar redevelopment of the hospital incorporates a 90 private bed wing, 4 additional operating theatres and 32 onsite medical consulting suites.

The hospital, which was officially opened by the Hon. John Howard MP Prime Minister of Australia recently, has a strong reputation in Queensland for the provision of excellent services to the veteran and general community and has continued to substantially enhance its services and facilities as one of Queensland's finest and most comprehensive private hospitals, since the takeover of the hospital by Ramsay Health Care in 1995.
