It’s Going Around – Catch the New Courtesy Bus!

A free bus service, which will assist residents of Wynnum and Cleveland to visit inpatients of Greenslopes Private Hospital, was launched today at Wynnum RSL.

A Monday to Friday Service, the first run of the bus service will commute patients on a set route from Wynnum with several stops before its destination at Greenslopes Private Hospital. The subsequent run will commute patients on a set route from Cleveland to Greenslopes Private Hospital.

The Bus can carry up to 10 passengers and it is hoped that the free Service will make travelling to Greenslopes Private Hospital for patients’ carers or relatives who live in Brisbane’s eastern district, a lot cheaper, quicker and simpler.

The Service is a collaborative project between the Hospital and Wynnum RSL Sub Branch.

The Wynnum Bus Route departs from Manly Shopping Village at 9am and other stops along the route include Wynnum RSL, Wynnum North Railway Station, Wynnum Plaza Shopping Centre, Manly West Medical Centre and Tingalpa Shopping Centre.

The Cleveland Bus Route departs from Victoria Point Shopping Centre at 11am and other stops along the route include the Council, Alexandra Hills Shopping Centre, Birkdale Fair Shopping Centre and Capalaba Library.

Greenslopes Private Hospital General Manager Alan Kinkade said the Hospital was delighted to that Wynnum RSL Sub Branch had agreed to be part of this new service.

“This will be an excellent service for residents in Brisbane’s eastern suburbs. It will make travel to and from the hospital a less stressful journey,” Mr Kinkade said.

Greenslopes Private Hospital has been operating a similar service to Brisbane’s northern suburbs for over 2 years and this service has proven to be extremely successful with over 120 passengers travelling to and from the hospital per month.
