Hospital members honoured with hibiscus

Members of the War Widows’ Guild (Qld) Inc and the Hibiscus Society of Queensland Inc gathered at Greenslopes Private Hospital this week to present two long serving staff members with hibiscuses named in their honour.

Greenslopes Private Hospital CEO, Associate Professor Jill Watts and Ramsay Health Care Marketing Manager, Carmel Monaghan were presented with the hibiscuses by Gynith Whatmough, President of The Hibiscus Society of Queensland Inc and Vice President of the War Widows’ Guild of Australia (Qld) Inc.

The presentation was in recognition of their wonderful service to the War Widow Guild members over many years.

War Widow and long time patient of Greenslopes Private Hospital, Marjorie Brown was the instigator of getting the hibiscus named after Jill and Carmel.

“Both Jill and Carmel have worked so hard to ensure the best care for me and all the War Widows for so many years,” Marjorie said.

“We are always so well cared for when we come to Greenslopes and both have played such an important part in this.

“This is the happiest day of my life to be making this presentation to you both and thank you so much for your ongoing care.”
