Greenslopes Private Hospital is proud to be celebrating a medical milestone in 2017: 75 years of caring for the community. What started as a repatriation hospital for World War Two veterans in 1942 has now evolved into one of Brisbane’s premier private hospitals, offering a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and critical care services. We are proud to be Australia’s largest private teaching hospital, owned and operated by Ramsay Health Care. Our highly-trained team of specialists are some of the finest and most experienced in Queensland – many are leaders in their chosen fields. We are committed to working with them to provide the latest treatments and deliver first-class care to our patients. Autumn 2017 also marks the opening of another exciting and significant achievement: a state-of-the-art radiation oncology service. The arrival of this facility means patients can have every aspect of their cancer treatment catered for at Greenslopes Private Hospital – from diagnosis and consultation to treatment and reconstruction. It is located on the lower ground level of the Administration Building (accessed via Newdegate Street). We are fortunate to have specialists who take a collaborative approach to cancer services, especially regarding complex cases. A new campaign has been launched to reflect the expertise of our team, as well as the size and accessibility of the hospital: World-class treatment is closer than you think. Greenslopes Private Hospital is equipped with the latest technology and regularly hosts clinical trials. This enables our skilled specialists to offer excellent treatment options to their patients. One of the most significant dates on our calendar is also fast approaching: ANZAC Day. This is an important time for us to acknowledge and pay tribute to our past – both as a hospital and as a nation. As in previous years, we will be holding a Dawn Service and Gunfire Breakfast in the Anzac Memorial adjacent to the chapel. All are welcome. More details on page nine.
