PET/CT scanner improves
patient access
The location of a PET/CT scanner on site at
Greenslopes Private Hospital is helping to make life
easier for patients with cancer and other illnesses.
Queensland X-Ray celebrated the
one-year anniversary of the arrival of
the machine in late September.
Over the past year more than 2400
scans have been conducted, 99
per cent of which were for oncology
patients.

was the first of its kind to be installed
in a southeast Queensland private
hospital.
The technology is based on a single
continuous motion, rather than stopand
go technology, which reduces the
imaging time for patients.
The Gallipoli Medical Research Foundation’s Clinical
Trials Unit, based at Greenslopes Private Hospital, has
been voted the Favourite Investigational Site in Australia
for 2018.
GMRF received the honour for the second
year in a row at the ARCS Australia Annual
Scientific Meeting.
