We have a lot of exciting developments to
update you on since our last edition of GPH
News.
We recently welcomed a new member to
our Executive Team at Greenslopes Private
Hospital. Dr Mellissa Naidoo has been
appointed as the Director of Medical Services,
and brings with her a wealth of knowledge and
experience in medical executive and clinical
governance roles in both the private and public
health sectors.
We are always looking for ways to meet the
needs of our patients so we are in the process
of expanding our day surgery area. We will be
creating two additional procedure rooms and
more recovery spaces to accommodate for
the growing demands and requirements of our
community.
You may have also recently noticed
construction is nearing completion on our new
Nicholson Street Specialist Centre, which will
provide three levels of consulting suites and
two levels of car parking. We are excited to
share that we anticipate this building will be
officially opened by the end of this year.
Both the Deputy Prime Minister and Veterans’
Affairs Minister recently visited Greenslopes
Private Hospital - on separate occasions. They
toured areas such as the Cyril Gilbert Cancer
Centre, Keith Payne Unit, and Gallipoli Medical
Research Foundation, to view our world-class
facilities and meet some of our amazing staff
and patients.
It has become an annual tradition at Ramsay
Health Care hospitals to take part in R U OK?
Day activities in order to stay connected with
each other, have meaningful conversations,
and identify anyone who may be struggling.
This September, our staff will once again raise
money for the R U OK? charity through a gold
coin donation lunch.
In this edition of GPH News, you will find a
range of interesting stories about medical
research, new technology, and significant
impression of new Nicholson Street Specialist Centre
achievements. Researchers are launching a
new study onsite involving a potentially lifechanging
treatment for a common inherited
disease (p5), patients can now access an
advanced form of therapy for brain, lung, and
bone tumours (p3), and we have reached an
exciting 10 year milestone which involves
growing our nursing workforce (p6).
I trust you will enjoy reading all of the articles in
this magazine - and hope that you, or someone
you know, may benefit from the information
they contain.
Best wishes,
Chris
