2018 is shaping up to be another
busy and exciting year for
Greenslopes Private Hospital.
Welcome back everyone from the
Christmas/New Year period – I hope you
all enjoyed some time out with family
and friends.
Over the year ahead, my goal is to make
sure I spend time with as many of you as
possible. Please make sure you say hi
as I walk about the corridors.
Greenslopes Private Hospital is a
community of people working together
to get the best outcomes possible for our
patients. I want you feel that you have a
say in our hospital and I look forward to
finding out your ideas to make our hospital
the best it can be.
2018 is shaping up to be another busy
and exciting year for Greenslopes Private
Hospital. I know the staff, patients and
visitors must be looking forward to the
completion of the Jessie Vasey Wing
refurbishment in April. The Nicholson Street
Specialist Centre is also moving ahead with
completion set for later in the year.
This year also marks the 100th anniversary
of the end of WW1, making our traditional
ANZAC Day Dawn Service especially
poignant. We would like to invite you to join
us for our community event on Wednesday
25 April (more details on the back cover).
February is Ovarian Cancer Awareness
Month which is a timely reminder for
women to familiarise themselves with the
latest research and warning signs (p3).
Our Cancer Wellness Program is about
to mark its first anniversary (p4), and
Greenslopes Private Hospital recently
hosted an Australian-first workshop
regarding liver cancer research and
treatment (p9).
Employees are undertaking three separate
research projects this year, thanks to
grants from the Gallipoli Medical Research
Foundation, which aim to improve clinical
outcomes at GPH (p7).
Finally, the Baby CPR and First Aid classes
are back by popular demand (p8), and
our Emergency Centre staff are coming
up with new ways to enhance the patient
experience (p5).
I am looking forward to making time to
catch up with you – whether you are a
patient, visitor, doctor, employee, or live in
the community. I am so grateful for the part
you play in making Greenslopes Private
Hospital the world-class health care facility
it strives to be.
Until we meet,
Chris
