The Allied Health team has been busy brainstorming new ways
to highlight some key health messages to the community.
In the past few months they have actively focused on:
Saliva control issues associated with Parkinson’s Disease as
part of Speech Pathology Week
Recognising the signs of stroke using the “Think F.A.S.T.”
model during Stroke Week
The importance of physical activity for life as part of World
Physiotherapy Day
Greenslopes Private Hospital staff members collaborated to
produce articles and a video, which can be viewed on our
Facebook page and website: greenslopesprivate.com.au.
Bringing back Silver Memories
A free concert designed to bring music out of the wireless
and into aged care centres was recently held at Greenslopes
Private Hospital.
The Silver Memories performance was presented by
Brisbane City Council and Queensland Music Festival for
patients, staff and visitors who gathered in the main foyer.
The concert was based on the Silver Memories nostalgia
radio service, which broadcasts music from the 1920s–60s.
Greenslopes Private Hospital was the first of its kind in
Australia to offer this 24/7 Silver Memories satellite service
to patients via televisions in their rooms.
The program is designed to increase social engagement
and movement, while reducing isolation.
