on R U OK? Day
Greenslopes Private Hospital recently joined the R U OK? Day call
to action by providing a special lunch for more than 2,000 staff who
work on site.
The event was designed to remind all employees to follow four key
tips: “Ask”, “Listen”, “Encourage Action” and “Check In” with those
around you.
The kitchen team, which normally prepares 4,000 freshly cooked
meals each day, was even busier in the lead-up to R U OK? Day.
Their extra orders included 110kg pulled beef brisket, 900 Peri Peri
chicken thighs, 54kg Greek salad, 36 trays of spinach and ricotta
cannelloni – just to name a few!
Staff were encouraged to make a gold coin donation, and raised
a total of $1,342.85 which will go towards supporting the R U OK?
Day charity.

Greenslopes Private Hospital is continuing to modernise and
expand with construction underway on a new multi-storey
development.
Once complete, the Nicholson Street Specialist Centre will
provide three levels of additional medical consulting suites
and two levels of parking on the existing footprint of the
hospital campus.
CEO Tim Daniel said the project will further cement Greenslopes
Private Hospital as a leading provider of world-class health care
on Brisbane’s south side.
“We are always striving to build the best possible facilities for
our patients. This is a particularly exciting milestone as it will help
us to cater for the ever-growing health care needs of both the
hospital and the community into the future,” said Mr Daniel.
Work is also currently underway to refurbish the entire
Jessie Vasey Wing of the hospital to create more single room
accommodation; the first stage has already been completed.
Both projects are due to finish in 2018.
