Our patients regularly have access to treatments not routinely available in Australia by participating in clinical trials through the Gallipoli Medical Research Foundation (GMRF). This Clinical Trials Unit has conducted more than 100 trials involving over 2,000 patients in just 10 years. There are more Melanoma trials carried out at Greenslopes Private Hospital than anywhere else in Queensland. GMRF is also behind a breakthrough treatment for Hepatitis C, has Queensland’s only research unit solely dedicated to liver cancer, and launched the world’s first large clinical study of long-term impacts of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Greenslopes Private Hospital has Queensland’s leading robotic surgical unit, and was the first hospital in the state to offer the revolutionary procedures (in 2008). Since then our surgeons have performed more than 3,300 robot-assisted procedures, making it one of the busiest sites in Australia. Greenslopes Private Hospital has recently expanded its robotic surgery program with the latest generation of the da Vinci robotic surgical system.
