Dr Kat Black is a Brisbane based Specialist General Surgeon with interests in endocrine surgery. She is a graduate of the University of Queensland and trained in Queensland to complete her Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in General Surgery.

Following this, Dr Black undertook a further two years of post-fellowship subspecialty training in Endocrine Surgery. She spent 12 months at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in London, UK where she gained extensive experience in Endocrine Surgery, before returning to Brisbane to advance her skills in Breast and Endocrine Surgery at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Dr Black enjoys managing and performing surgery for thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal conditions. She also performs a range of general surgical operations such as hernia and gallbladder surgery.

She is a current member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS), General Surgeons Australia (GSA) and Australian and New Zealand Endocrine Surgeons (ANZES) and is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland.

Dr Black has a public appointment as a consultant Endocrine Surgeon at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and her private practice is located at Greenslopes Private Hospital.
