Dr Chun How Gan is a gastroenterologist who cares for adults with a wide range of digestive and liver conditions. He provides assessment, diagnosis and ongoing management for bowel cancer screening and surveillance, hereditary bowel cancer syndromes, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), liver disease and other gastrointestinal conditions.
Dr Gan performs diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopy, gastroscopy and the removal of large colorectal polyps using advanced endoscopic techniques where appropriate.
Dr Gan holds a PhD in Lynch syndrome, with research focused on inherited bowel cancer risk and improving the care of people with hereditary gastrointestinal cancer syndromes. He is the Clinical Lead of the Familial Bowel Cancer Clinic at Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.
Dr Gan consults in English and Mandarin and is also proficient in Cantonese and other Chinese dialects.
