Dr Stephen Allison a General Surgeon with interests in laparoscopic, general and colorectal surgery, and colonoscopy. He has an added interest in surgery for colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease, as well as functional (faecal incontinence, constipation and defecatory disorders) bowel conditions. He also offers a wide range of laparoscopic procedures including bowel resections, cholecystectomy and inguinal hernia repairs. 

Dr Allison runs an anorectal physiology laboratory at GPH to help facilitate the care of patients with functional bowel disorder

Dr Allison was awarded a FRACS in 1997 for general surgery, and completed sub-specialist colorectal training with fellowships in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England, and the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, USA. He has been an active general and colorectal surgeon since returning to Brisbane in 2000.

Dr Allison is an active teacher and is head of the University of Queensland Department of Surgery for Greenslopes Private Hospital. Dr Allison is the head of the General Surgery department at Greenslopes Private Hospital.
