Dr Teresa Nano is a General Surgeon interested in all aspects of breast disease with particular emphasis on breast cancer care, including reconstructive surgery and breast reduction surgery as well as endocrine surgery pertaining to thyroid and parathyroid glands. She performs minimally invasive parathyroidectomies and uses intraoperative recurrent laryngeal nerve monitoring.
She graduated from the University of Queensland in 1990 and completed her advanced training in general surgery at the Royal Brisbane Hospital in 1999. She subsequently worked as a Senior Lecturer for the University of Queensland at Greenslopes Private Hospital in 2000 prior to undergoing two years of sub-specialisation in Breast and Endocrine Surgery at the Royal Adelaide Hospital Breast and Endocrine Unit. Teresa has worked as a Surgeon at the Royal Brisbane and Greenslopes Private Hospitals until 2011. Since then she has concentrated her practice to Greenslopes Private Hospital. She consults at Breast Screen Queensland.
