Interest: General laparoscopic surgeon, liver, pancreas and biliary surgery

Dr Tom O’Rourke is a specialists general with interests in hepatobiliary surgery. He has a broad interest in general and laparoscopic surgery including hernia repair, gallbladder disease, liver resection and pancreatic surgery.

Dr O’Rourke completed his general surgical training at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and gained general fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2005. He has had specialist fellowship training in hepatobiliary surgery at the North Hampshire Hospital, and surgical oncology at the Royal Marsden Hospital.  He subsequently joined the liver transplant team at Princess Alexandra Hospital. He remains active in academic HPB surgery and surgical oncology.

Dr O'Rourke is the director of HPB surgery and a liver transplant surgeon at Princess Alexandra Hospital. He is a director for the board of the Australian and New Zealand Hepatobiliary Association (AANZHPBA).  His private practice is based with Greenslopes Specialists Surgeons.
