Having completed his medical degree with the University of Queensland, he went on to complete his General Surgical Training in QLD in 2018 and had further subspecialist training with Colorectal Surgical units in both the Mater Hospital in Brisbane and Canberra Hospital in the ACT. He is also GESA accredited to perform both upper gastrointestinal endoscopies and colonoscopies. He particates in direct access endoscopy (please mention if you believe that haemorrhoid management may be required in the referral). He takes particular pride in cultivating and fostering collaborative relationships with other clinicians and allied health staff to provide optimal patient care. As a member of the RACS QLD State Committee, Gian is an ardent supporter for the advancement and improvement of professional opportunities for younger surgical fellows and provision of surgical services in QLD. He is also passionate about teaching and has been involved with the University of Queensland, James Cook University and Australian National University teaching medical students during his surgical training, and while as a consultant. He has participated in the formal teaching programs for the junior medical staff while working at the Canberra and Mater Hospitals and has recently finished as the Director of Clinical Training at the Mater Hospital, South Brisbane.
