Dr Richard Gartrell is a Specialist General Surgeon, with a clinical focus in colorectal surgery, working at Greenslopes Private Hospital and Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Dr Gartrell is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, member of the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand and a Conjoint Committee accredited colonoscopist. Dr Gartrell completed a two-year fellowship in colorectal surgery at Western Health Victoria, followed by a further two years of colorectal fellowship at the Royal Melbourne, Royal Womens and Box Hill hospitals respectively. He has also trained at the renowned Peter MacCallum Centre. He is trained in minimally invasive and robotic techniques and also offers general surgical procedures.
