Dr Rebecca Ryder is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with a different approach to women’s health. She offers a boutique, individualised service to her patients.
Dr Ryder received first class honours during her medical degree at Griffith University School of Medicine. She then completed six years of specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in QLD and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
Dr Ryder received the University Medal for academic achievement and the Clinical Skills Medallion. She was actively involved in RANZCOG during her gynaecology training and was elected to be the RANZCOG QLD Trainee Representative by her peers.
In 2019 Dr Ryder was awarded the prestigious AMA Australian Doctor in Training Award for her contribution to surgical training and mentorship of junior doctors. She is passionate about well-being and mentoring the next generation of health care professionals. Dr Ryder plays an active role in teaching and examining medical students and is an Associate Lecturer for the University of Queensland.
With advanced training in laparoscopic surgery, Dr Ryder performs total laparoscopic hysterectomy, excision of endometriosis, ovarian cystectomy and myomectomy with a minimally invasive approach. She has an interest in persistent pelvic pain and believes in taking a holistic, multimodal approach in managing pain and endometriosis. Dr Ryder is a certified Colposcopist and has experience in managing menopause, PCOS and heavy menstrual bleeding.
She has a permanent consultant appointment in public obstetrics and gynaecology at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and is a member of the AMA, the Australian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery Society (AGES) and the Pelvic Pain Foundation.
Dr Ryder welcomes private patient consultations at Greenslopes Private Hospital and operates at both Greenslopes Private & Brisbane Private Hospitals.
