Dr Dev Jegatheesan is a consultant nephrologist who holds a public appointment at Princess Alexandra and consults privately at Greenslopes Private Hospital. After completing his nephrology training he undertook a kidney transplant fellowship at Princess Alexandra Hospital in 2018.
He is a transplant physician within the Queensland Kidney Transplant Service at Princess Alexandra Hospital, a role which involves transplant assessment, acute inpatient and peri-operative care, waitlist management and follow-up of longterm transplant recipients.
Dr Jegatheesan completed his BSc and MBBS at The University of Queensland, and is now a Lecturer and PhD candidate there, where he actively participates in clinical coaching and examination of medical students. He is an accredited advanced nephrology trainee supervisor with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, and takes pride in developing clinical, research and humanistic skills in future nephrologists.
He has clinical interests include kidney transplantation, diabetic kidney disease, hypertension and glomerulonephritis, and manages patients across the spectrum of kidney disease including chronic kidney disease, haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and post kidney transplantation. His research interests include physical fitness in kidney disease, patientcentred care and the interplay between cardiovascular and kidney disease.
Dr Jegatheesan welcomes referrals from specialists, general practitioners and emergency departments and is equally happy to provide phone advice as required
