Dr Chun Loo Gan is an Australian-trained Medical Oncologist who is passionate about providing top-quality care for adult patients with cancer.
After receiving his medical degree at the University of Melbourne in 2011, Dr Gan completed basic physician training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and advanced training in Medical Oncology at Monash Medical Centre and Oliver Newton-John Cancer Centre in Melbourne, Victoria. He undertook a year of clinical trial fellowship at Monash Health Translation Precinct and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2018.
Dr Gan has a strong focus in clinical research. In 2019, he undertook a two year genitourinary oncology fellowship at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Calgary, Canada, under the supervision of Prof. Daniel Heng, the founder of the International Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma Database Consortium (IMDC). As the IMDC fellow, Dr. Gan led multiple international collaborative research studies in advanced renal cell carcinoma and immunotherapy. He presented his research work at international and national meetings and received several awards including 2 prestigious Merit Awards from the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the Novartis Oncology Young Canadian Investigator Award. In addition, Dr. Gan completed a Master’s degree in Cancer Sciences at the University of Melbourne with a particular focus in cancer immunotherapy.
Dr Gan currently has a public hospital practice at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. He sees patients privately at Greenslopes Private Hospital. Dr Gan recognises the importance of patient-centered care and believes he contributes positively to a patient's cancer journey by providing expert personalised care.
