Interests: Electrolyte disorders, general nephrology, dialysis and secondary forms of hypertension.

Dr Andrew Bofinger graduated from the University of Queensland in 1989 with First Class Honours and University Medal.  He undertook further training at Princess Alexandra Hospital and the Royal Brisbane Hospital and was awarded his FRACP in 1997.  He undertook PhD studies at the Hypertension Unit, Greenslopes Private Hospital, leading to a PhD awarded in 2003 - "Fibromuscular Dysplasia of the Renal Arteries: Studies on Aetiology". Dr Bofinger is Chair of Nephrology and Associate Professor in Medicine at the University of Queensland.  He is actively involved in teaching medical students and trainee physicians. He is also actively involved in registrar training and assessment with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, where he is a member of the National Examining Panel. Clinical interests include general nephrology, electrolyte disorders, dialysis and secondary forms of hypertension.
