Interests: Pelvic floor dysfunction including pelvic organ prolapse, bladder problems, bowel problems and pelvic pain. Pelvic reconstructive surgery for prolapse and incontinence both laparoscopic and vaginal.

Dr Mowat completed her FRANZCOG training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2014 and completed a 3 year fellowship in Urogynaecology at the Gold Coast University Hospital and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.  She received further training in bowel dysfunction including anal physiology and surgery during an honorary fellowship with the colorectal surgeons at QEII hospital.  Dr Mowat’s training has provided her with the skills to offer comprehensive treatment options for women with gynaecological and pelvic floor problems which are very common, particularly after childbirth.  She has received training from an international expert in complicated vaginal mesh removal and fistula repairs at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.  Dr Mowat is a lecturer at the University of Queensland and is widely published in peer-reviewed journals, particularly in the field of surgery for pelvic floor dysfunction.

Her training in gynaecology and obstetrics also places her well to provide women with general gynaecological care. Her professional relationships with other specialists, including colorectal surgeons and pelvic floor physiotherapists, ensure that women receive holistic and multidisciplinary care as needed.  Other services include mobile urodynamic studies and pelvic floor ultrasound at each consultation site. Dr Mowat believes that a woman’s care must always align with her individual preferences and ideologies.  To discuss individual patients please email her reception and she will contact you at her earliest convenience.
