Dr Ian McKenzie is a Urologist treating all aspects of adult Urology. He has particular interest in uro-oncology and robotic surgery with a clinical focus in cancers of the prostate, bladder and kidney.
He graduated with Honours from the University of Queensland medical school in 2004. He completed his Fellowship training in Urology in Brisbane in 2014. This included a year of clinical research investigating mechanisms of advanced prostate cancer resulting in a Masters degree in research from Queensland University of Technology.
Dr McKenzie has completed 18 months of subspecialist Uro-oncology and robotic surgery fellowship training, with 6 months initially spent with the Queensland Robotic Surgery Unit ans Greenslopes Private Hospital, followed by 12 months of training at the Bristol Urological Institute in the United Kingdom. This is one of the largest, and busiest robotic Urology units in the UK, and is an accredited robotic training site of the Robotic Urology Section of the European Association of Urology.
Since returning from the UK with his young family, Dr McKenzie has taken up a public visiting consultant appointment at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and Redlands Hospital. He offers private consulting, inpatient care and surgical services at Greenslopes Private Hospital.
