Dr Campbell completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at James Cook University in Townsville and completed his intern and resident years at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. He then attained a Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine through James Cook University followed by a Postgraduate Diploma in Surgical Anatomy through the University of Otago, New Zealand.
Dr Campbell completed his vascular surgery training at a number of tertiary medical facilities Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, The Townsville Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital and Wellington Hospital in New Zealand. He then completed his fellowship in Brisbane at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. He was awarded the Sam Mellick travelling fellowship and travelled to St Thomas's Hospital London to gain experience in deep venous reconstruction for chronic DVT.
Dr Campbell has continued to work in the public sector at Princess Alexandra Hospital and will also offer private sessions to patients at Greenslopes Private Hospital.
