We were informed on 26th December that an individual who works in the day of surgery area at Greenslopes Private Hospital has been confirmed as a positive COVID-19 case and was potentially infectious at the hospital on 20 December from 6am to 2pm.

As a result of this confirmed positive case, in consultation with the Public Health Unit and our National Clinical Governance Unit, we have undertaken urgent contact tracing of any contacts within the hospital. Given the mandatory use of PPE and 100% of staff vaccinated, we have identified a small number of staff categorised as contacts. These staff have gone for testing and will remain in isolation in accordance with the Public Health Unit’s advice.

Given the emerging situation and rising COVID-19 cases in Queensland, it is very important for all patients and staff to be vigilant to observe for symptoms. It is recommended that if you were in the hospital from 6am-2pm and develop symptoms, you should get tested as a precaution. Please be reassured that we are working to a considered plan designed to put the safety and wellbeing of our patients and health care workers first.

We will continue to provide updates to patients, staff and the community as more information becomes available. We thank you for your support during this time.
