Jun 09, 2016
Dr Taraneh Khoo from the Greenslopes UQ Clinical School received The UQ Award for Excellence in Clinical Teaching. She was presented the John Pearn Medallion at a farewell event for our graduating cohort. These awards are student nominated and reflect the outstanding contribution our medical community make to teaching the next generation of doctors.
Dr Khoo is a Consultant Psychiatrist who is heavily involved in the teaching program at Greenslopes Private Hospital. She is a past winner of the Maddison Medallion awarded by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. She juggles her teaching commitments with raising a family of four.
“Dr Khoo is the kind of doctor that is thoroughness, discipline and kindness embodied. She is the kind of teacher you remember long after the term. She has the empathetic approach you aspire to one day have, and the humanity that reminds you that medicine can and should be a powerful tool to use for good,” medical student.
